I've gotten so many questions about using Polytab to paint a mural at home and having installed on a jobsite (due to time constraints on the job/builders, etc.).
Here's the WHOLE breakdown of the process!

Short answer: Love love loved it! 🥰
Long answer: keep scrolling! ⬇️
⚡️POLYTAB:
A mural cloth that can be painted offsite and installed, like wallpaper, indoors and outdoors. It’s an awesome alternative for weather and if you have a space where you don’t have the luxury of time and it needs to be installed in one day. You can buy it but the roll or you can buy it pre-primed with a ghost print, like I did. ⚡️I had it ghost printed by Ben Volta at Mural Provisions 🤘

⚡️THE DESIGN:
I got this mural requests from a past client who creates luxury short term rentals I IMMEDIATELY thought of Adrienne. She was an amazing collaborator and created the reference even better than I imagined. Please follow her if you aren’t already! @adrienneeluther

A clip to show you how it's printed in two sections and the seam is in the middle:
⚡️MATERIALS:
⚡️The recommended adhesive is nova gel or an acrylic gel medium. Downside is the nova gel dries sooooo fast. My installer had another interior acrylic gel medium that he recommended as well. ⚡️I used interior latex paint and sealed it because it’s the front entrance of an Airbnb and smudgy hands may touch it. Because it was pre-primed I didn’t prime it.
⚡️INSTALL
I hired Vinny from Verly Wallpaper to install it at the job site. I wanted it to look perfect and called in an expert! Worth it! 🙏

Some videos of applying the adhesive and applying to the wall:
I touched up the seams after he installed and voila!

The possibilities of polytab are pretty exciting:
Painting for locations outside of Tampa, FL
Painting exterior spaces during summer months when Florida isn't cooperating

I'm so curious what you guys think of this process! Shoot me a note ashleynicoleartistry@gmail.com
